Lower Bavarian open-air museums work with timeCard from REINER SCT

The Lower Bavarian open-air museums in Massing and Finsterau fulfill the task of presenting the former life, economy and building of the rural population of Lower Bavaria. As major cultural institutions, they are of great importance for the preservation and communication of the region’s cultural heritage. Prior to the implementation of the time recording and access control system, the working hours of the association’s employees were recorded manually over a period of 18 years using Excel or timesheets. In order to make museum operations more efficient and improve the accuracy of working time recording, the decision was made to introduce a modern time recording and access control system.“The experts from REINER SCT, surfAN EDV GmbH, have accompanied and successfully supported us in this task from the very beginning, says Hans Eichinger. System administrator of the Zweckverband Niederbayerischer Freilichtmussen Massing im Rottal and Finsterau in the Bavarian Forest. The decision in favor of the new system was influenced by several decisive factors:

  1. Recording of overtime worked: The system enables accurate recording of overtime worked to ensure correct remuneration or compensation through time off in lieu.
  2. Flexible working time management: The system enables flexible working hours that meet the needs of the employees and the requirements of the museum.
  3. Conversion of the working time model: The system supports the conversion to various working time models, including flexitime, part-time, seasonal work and hourly wages for temporary staff.
  4. Optimization of work processes: The automated recording of working times optimizes and simplifies work processes.
  5. Promoting personal responsibility and flexibility among employees: The system enables employees to record and manage their own working hours, which increases their flexibility.
  6. Increasing employee motivation: The precise recording of working hours and transparent remuneration contribute to increasing employee motivation.

“The introduction of electronic time recording and access control has gone to everyone’s complete satisfaction, emphasizes Hans Eichinger. The following products were used in close cooperation with the system administrator Hans Eichinger and surfAN EDV GmbH:

  • Time recording for 100 employees: The timeCard-system was implemented to record the working hours of 100 employees.
  • Access control for 25 employees: The access control system enables secure access control for the 25 employees.
  • 4x timecard Terminal 3: The timeCard terminals of the third generation were used to simplify the recording of working times.
  • ExchangeSync: The ExchangeSync module has been implemented to transfer absences directly to the Outlook calendar.
  • Time recording for 30 employees with ExchangeSync: The system has been extended to enable time recording for a further 30 employees and to ensure synchronization with Outlook.
  • Special reports via ReportgeneratorClassic: The ReportgeneratorClassic was used to create special reports for employee monthly overviews and time bonuses.

The implementation of the time recording and access control system for the Zweckverband Niederbayerische Freilichtmuseen Massing im Rottal and Finsterau in the Bavarian Forest represents an important step towards more efficient and accurate recording of working hours. The system offers a user-friendly and innovative user interface for employees and administrators and at the same time meets the requirements for tamper-proofing and compliance with the ECJ ruling on working time recording. “Personally, I appreciate the partnership-based and uncomplicated cooperation,” confirms Hans Eichinger. The introduction of the system means that working times are recorded to the minute, which is fair to both employers and employees. The previous working time models, including flexitime, part-time, seasonal work and hourly wages for temporary staff, were successfully integrated into the system to meet the specific requirements of the special-purpose association. The time recording and access control system offers the Zweckverband Niederbayerische Freilichtmuseen Massing im Rottal and Finsterau in the Bavarian Forest an efficient and reliable solution for recording and managing working hours. It supports work processes, promotes the personal responsibility and flexibility of employees and helps to increase employee motivation. “Hans Eichinger, system administrator of the special-purpose association of Lower Bavarian open-air museums Massing im Rottal and Finsterau in the Bavarian Forest, comments on the project as follows: ‘The solution concept, which was individually tailored to our time recording processes, convinced us. The experts from REINER SCT, surfAN EDV GmbH, have accompanied and successfully supported us in this task right from the start. The introduction of electronic time recording and access control went off to everyone’s complete satisfaction.
