Use of social media: Videos

Use of YouTube videos
This website uses the YouTube embedding function to display and play videos from the provider “YouTube”, which belongs to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).

The extended data protection mode is used here, which, according to the provider, only initiates the storage of user information when the video(s) is/are played. If the playback of embedded YouTube videos is started, the provider “YouTube” uses cookies to collect information about user behavior.

According to information from “Youtube”, these are used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent abusive behavior. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account when you click on a video. If you do not wish to be associated with your profile on YouTube, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and analyzes them. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit.f GDPR on the basis of Google’s legitimate interests in the display of personalized advertising, market research and/or demand-oriented design of its website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube to exercise this right.

When using YouTube, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA. Irrespective of playback of the embedded videos, a connection to the Google network is established each time this website is accessed, which may trigger further data processing operations without our influence.

For the transfer of data from the EU to the USA, Google relies on so-called standard data protection clauses of the European Commission, which are intended to ensure compliance with the European level of data protection in the USA.
Further information on Google data protection can be found at:

https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de

Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s privacy policy at

Online marketing

Facebook Pixel for the creation of Custom Audiences with advanced data matching

Within our online offer, the so-called “Facebook pixel” of the social network Facebook is used in the extended data matching mode, which is operated by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Quare, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”).

On the basis of the user’s express consent, when a user clicks on an advertisement placed by us on Facebook, an addition is added to the URL of our linked page by Facebook Pixel. This URL parameter is then written into the user’s browser via a cookie after redirection, which our linked page sets itself. In addition, this cookie collects specific customer data such as the email address that we collect on our website linked to the Facebook ad during transactions such as purchases, account logins or registrations (extended data synchronization). The cookie is then read by Facebook Pixel and enables the data, including the specific customer data, to be forwarded to Facebook.

With the help of the Facebook pixel with extended data matching, Facebook is able to precisely determine the visitors of our online offer as a target group for the display of ads (so-called “Facebook ads”). Accordingly, we use the Facebook pixel with extended data matching to display the
Facebook ads placed by us only to those Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our online offering or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products determined on the basis of the websites visited) that we transmit to Facebook (so-called “custom audiences”). With the help of the Facebook pixel with extended data matching, we also want to ensure that our Facebook ads correspond to the potential interest of users and are not annoying. This allows us to further evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by tracking whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called “conversion”). Compared to the standard version of Facebook Pixel, the extended data synchronization function helps us to better measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns by recording more associated conversions.

All transmitted data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Usage Policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). The data can enable Facebook and its partners to place advertisements on and outside
of Facebook. These processing operations are only carried out if express consent is given in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

Consent to the use of the Facebook pixel may only be given by users over the age of 13. If you are younger, we ask you to ask your legal guardian for permission.

The information generated by Facebook is usually transmitted to a Facebook server and stored there; this may also result in the transmission of
to the servers of Facebook Inc. in the USA. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, remove the checkmark next to the setting for the “Facebook Pixel” in the “Cookie Consent Tool” integrated on the website.

Use of Google AdWords conversion tracking

This website uses the online advertising program “Google AdWords” and, as part of Google AdWords, the conversion tracking of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrowo St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). We use Google AdWords to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising material (so-called Google AdWords). We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the advertising campaign data. We do this in order to show you advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an AdWords ad placed by Google. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. These cookies generally lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers find out the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can block this use by deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your Internet browser under user settings. They will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

We use Google Ads on the basis of our legitimate interest in targeted advertising in accordance with. Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. In the context of the use of Google Ads, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

For the transfer of data from the EU to the USA, Google relies on so-called standard data protection clauses of the European Commission, which are intended to ensure compliance with the European level of data protection in the USA.

Web analysis services

Google Analytics with Google Signals

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”). Google (Universal) Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your device, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including the shortened IP address) is usually transmitted to a Google server and stored there; it may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics exclusively with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”, which ensures anonymization of the IP address by shortening it and excludes direct personal reference. The extension means that your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google LLC server in the USA and shortened there.

Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google (Universal) Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Google Analytics also uses a special function, the so-called “demographic characteristics”, to create statistics with statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors based on an evaluation of interest-based advertising and with the use of third-party information. This allows the definition and differentiation of user groups of the website for the purpose of target group-optimized marketing measures. However, data records collected via the “demographic characteristics” cannot be assigned to a specific person.

Details on the processing triggered by Google Analytics and how Google handles data from websites can be found here:

https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

All processing described above, in particular the setting of Google Analytics cookies for the reading of information on the terminal device used, will only be carried out if you have given us your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. 1 lit. a GDPR have given your express consent to this. Without this consent, Google Analytics will not be used during your visit to our website.

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, please deactivate this service in the “Cookie Consent Tool” provided on the website. We have concluded an order processing contract with Google for the use of Google Analytics, which obliges Google to protect the data of our website visitors and not to pass it on to third parties. For the transfer of data from the EU to the USA, Google relies on so-called standard data protection clauses of the European Commission, which are intended to ensure compliance with the European level of data protection in the USA.

This website also uses the Google Signals service as an extension of Google Analytics. With Google Signals, we can have Google create cross-device reports (so-called “cross-device tracking”). If you have activated “personalized ads” in your Google account settings and you have linked your internet-enabled devices to your Google account, Google may track user behavior if you have given your consent to the use of Google Analytics in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. 1 lit. a GDPR (see above) across all devices and create database models based on this. This takes into account the logins and device types of all site visitors who were logged into a Google account and carried out a conversion. The data shows, among other things, on which device you clicked on an ad for the first time and on which device the associated conversion took place. We do not receive any
personal data from Google, but only statistics compiled on the basis of Google Signals. You have the option of deactivating the “personalized ads” function in the settings of your Google account and thus deactivating the cross-device analysis. Please follow the instructions on this page:

Privacy policy Google Analytics 4 (with cookies, with UserID, with Google Signals)

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”), which can be used to analyze the use of websites.

When using Google Analytics 4, so-called “cookies” are used as standard. Cookies are text files that are stored on your end device and enable your use of a website to be analyzed. The information collected by cookies about your use of the website (including the IP address transmitted by your end device, shortened by the last digits, see below) is usually transmitted to a Google server, where it is stored and processed. This may also result in information being transmitted to the servers of Google LLC based in the USA and further processing of the information there.

When using Google Analytics 4, the IP address transmitted by your end device when you use the website is automatically collected and processed only in anonymized form by default, so that the information collected cannot be directly linked to a person. This automatic anonymization is carried out by shortening the IP address transmitted by your terminal device by Google within member states of the European Union (EU) or other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) by the last digits.

Google uses this and other information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on your website activities and usage behavior and to provide us with other services relating to your use of the website and the Internet. The abbreviated IP address transmitted by your device as part of Google Analytics 4 will not be merged with other Google data. The data collected as part of the use of Google Analytics 4 is stored for 2 months and then deleted.

Google Analytics 4 also enables the creation of statistics with statements about the age, gender and interests of website users on the basis of an evaluation of interest-based advertising and with the help of third-party information via a special function, the so-called “demographic characteristics”. This makes it possible to determine and differentiate between user groups of the website for the purpose of target group-optimized marketing measures. However, data collected via the “demographic characteristics” cannot be assigned to a specific person and therefore not to you personally. This data collected via the “demographic characteristics” function is stored for two months and then deleted.

All processing described above, in particular the setting of Google Analytics cookies for the storage and reading of information on the terminal device you use to access the website, will only take place if you have given us permission to do so in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. 1 lit. a GDPR have given your express consent. Without your consent, Google Analytics 4 will not be used during your use of the website. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, please deactivate this service via the “Cookie Consent Tool” provided on the website. In connection with this website, the “UserIDs” function is also used as an extension of Google Analytics 4. By assigning individual UserIDs, we can have Google create cross-device reports (so-called “cross-device tracking”). This means that if you give your consent to the use of Google Analytics 4 in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR can also be analyzed across devices if you have set up a personal account by registering on this website and are logged in to your personal account on different devices with your relevant login data. The data collected in this way shows, among other things, on which device you clicked on an ad for the first time and on which device the relevant conversion took place.

In connection with this website, the Google Signals service is also used as an extension of Google Analytics 4. With Google Signals, we can have Google create cross-device reports (so-called “cross-device tracking”). If you have activated “personalized ads” in your Google account settings and linked your Internet-enabled devices to your Google account, Google may track your usage behavior when you give your consent to the use of Google Analytics 4 in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. 1 lit. a GDPR across devices and create database models based on this. This takes into account the logins and device types of all website users who were logged into a Google account and made a conversion. The data shows, among other things, on which end device you clicked on an ad for the first time and on which end device the relevant conversion took place. We do not receive any personal data from Google, but only statistics compiled on the basis of Google Signals. You have the option of deactivating the “personalized ads” function in the settings of your Google account and thus deactivating the cross-device analysis in connection with Google Signals. Please follow the instructions on this page:

https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de

Further information on Google Signals can be found under the following link:

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7532985?hl=de

We have concluded a so-called order processing contract with Google for our use of Google Analytics 4, which obliges Google to protect the data of our website users and not to pass it on to third parties. To ensure compliance with the European level of data protection, including in the event of any transfer of data from the EU or the EEA to the USA and possible further processing there, Google relies on the so-called standard contractual clauses of the European Commission, which we have contractually agreed with Google.

Further legal information on Google Analytics 4, including a copy of the aforementioned standard contractual clauses, can be found at the following link:
