REINER SCT enters into a cooperation with Swissbit for the iShield Key family and launches the FIDO Key under its own brand.

Bronschhofen, Switzerland / Furtwangen, October 31, 2024 – REINER SCT, one of the leading providers of smart card readers, TAN generators, authenticators, time recording and access control, is entering into a strategic partnership with Swissbit. As part of the cooperation, REINER SCT will distribute the security keys of the Swissbit iShield Key family in the future. In addition, the digital security expert is adding the REINER SCT FIDO Stick Pro, developed and produced by Swissbit, the first FIDO2 security key of its own, to its portfolio. The aim of the cooperation is to promote the spread of FIDO technology as a phishing-resistant authentication method and to make it accessible to an even broader customer base. Together with Swissbit, which produces all FIDO sticks in its semiconductor production facility in Berlin, the two companies jointly offer genuine “Security made in Germany”.

REINER SCT has been developing and producing in Germany since 1997 and offers all services from a single source, including sales and end customer service. For the first FIDO Key under the REINER SCT brand, the company has chosen Swissbit as its OEM partner. The REINER SCT FIDO Stick Pro is available as a USB-C and USB-A version and also has an NFC interface for tap-and-go authentication for mobile devices. In addition to FIDO2, it supports additional security protocols such as PIV, HOTP and TOTP.

“With Swissbit, we have gained a partner who, like REINER SCT, stands for the highest quality standards and innovative strength – values that we proudly represent under the label ‘Made in Germany’,” emphasizes Tobias Kiefer, Managing Director of REINER SCT. “Together, we create solutions that meet the safety and reliability requirements of our customers and actively shape the future of the market.”

“Since NIS2 at the latest, multi-factor authentication has been indispensable for companies to secure networks. As a hardware component, FIDO2 security keys offer maximum security and user-friendliness. We are delighted to have gained such an experienced digital security expert as REINER SCT as a partner, who can now offer its customers a broad portfolio of FIDO security keys ‘Made in Germany’,” adds Holger Weißel, Regional Sales Manager at Swissbit.
