For the eID function, the cyber Jack ® RFID komfort could be used from the very beginning – since the end of the year, the device has now also been approved for the so-called eSign function.
At this year’s high-tech trade fair CeBIT, which takes place in Hanover from March 6-10, 2012, the online signature will be presented in practice for the first time.
With the signature function, documents such as contracts or applications that would otherwise require a handwritten signature can be signed electronically and then sent electronically.
Printouts, handwritten signatures, postal routes and dependencies on times will be avoided in future.
The qualified electronic signature also makes it possible to recognize whether documents have been changed after they have been digitally signed.
Together with Bundesdruckerei GmbH, REINER SCT is demonstrating how the procurement of certificates for electronic signatures can be simplified and accelerated.
“In particular, the so-called ad-hoc certificates, which are only loaded onto the ID card at the moment when the signature is required, open up a very interesting approach for business processes without media disruptions,” says Andreas Staiger, Managing Director of REINER SCT, looking forward to the new process.
The new ID card will be given a further boost by these new possibilities.
To use the new function, the firmware V.2.0 certified by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and the German Banking Industry is required.
