Furtwangen, May 15, 2007 – According to the GeldKarte initiative, chip card holders loaded a total of 48.3 million euros onto their electronic wallets in the first three months.
At the same time, inquiries for GeldKarte readers at Reiner SCT increased by around 80 percent compared to the previous year.
With this new type of online payment, consumers insert their chip card into their Reiner SCT card reader, such as the cyber Jack ® e-com, and confirms the payment at the touch of a button – outside the Internet.

Customers do not have to disclose their account number or sensitive data such as credit card details to pay for goods.

Together with the GeldKarte e.V. initiative, Reiner SCT presented a live demonstration at this year’s CeBIT of how the GeldKarte can be topped up not only at the ATM at the bank, but also conveniently via the Internet. The new way of paying online, the GeldKarte combined with the Reiner SCT cyber Jack ® e-com, is a secure and anonymous solution for e-shopping and online banking.
Reiner SCT has set up the shopping portal www.smartbasar.de to make the advantages tangible.
Here, consumers can find online retailers that offer GeldKarte payment functions.
The various product areas range from music, games and cell phones to esoteric horoscopes and life advice, audio books, branded clothing and computer products.
The GeldKarte offers particular added value on the erotic portal, as age verification is also possible there conveniently and anonymously using the GeldKarte youth protection feature.
Participating retailers such as MediaOnline, Media Markt’s Internet portal, offer services such as downloads or product and content purchases by GeldKarte. The card readers such as the Reiner SCT cyber Jack ® e-com and the cyber Jack ® pinpad are already available.
