Furtwangen, June 28, 2010 – The German government is providing 24 million euros in funding for the discounted or free distribution of almost 1.5 million card readers for the new ID card (nPA).
REINER SCT is involved in half of the ten measures funded as part of the IT security kit.
Both the concept for the distribution of the basic readers and for the standard and comfort readers from the Furtwangen-based company were convincing.
The submitted partner concepts with Deutscher Genossenschafts-Verlag, Star Finanz-Software Entwicklung und Vertriebs GmbH, impuls systems and T-Systems International also received funding.
Carsten Sommer, Managing Director of REINER SCT: “Our aim was to give as many citizens as possible an early opportunity to make full use of the new ID card – and at an affordable price. It was also important to us that the readers could be distributed quickly and easily. We are delighted that the resulting concepts – both our own and those from our collaboration with partners – have met with such a positive response.”
By supporting measures such as those of REINER SCT, the federal government ensures that many citizens are already equipped for the nPA during the introductory phase.
Bottlenecks, which otherwise often slow down the spread of applications in comparable projects, are thus actively counteracted. (approx. 1320 characters)
