Furtwangen, November 5, 2007 – “The best protection against hackers in online banking is currently provided by HBCI in conjunction with a chip card and a card reader,” emphasizes Carsten Sommer, Managing Director of Reiner SCT, the market leader for chip card readers.
HBCI with a chip card protects the data even on a virus-infected PC.
Transactions only take place if the user has identified himself on the computer with a chip card and PIN using a card reader.
Security class 3 chip card readers, whose security applications can be automatically updated via the Internet using a secure download, are particularly suitable for HBCI.
The PPI trend study also shows that online banking with card readers has not yet achieved a breakthrough due to the acquisition costs.
As part of a special promotion providing comprehensive information about HBCI, Reiner SCT is offering the cyberJack® e-com card reader in a special offer package (www.chipkartenleser-shop.de and at many promotional partners) until the end of December. The card readers from Reiner SCT are also multifunctional. “Our card readers are ideally suited for online payments with the GeldKarte and electronic signatures, for example. This means that the acquisition costs pay for themselves very quickly,” emphasizes Carsten Sommer.
Together with PPI AG, Reiner SCT has developed a security solution based on the electronic signature of the customer and the bank.
The solution can be used to securely sign and verify data from the bank and the respective customer.
The customer can be sure that the data comes from his bank or savings bank; the credit institution is confirmed that the data originates from the customer. (The text contains approx. 2,321 characters)
