How does a TAN generator (color matrix code) work?

In online banking, instead of the flicker code, you only need to photograph the displayed color code with your TAN generator (this is the image with the colored squares). It’s lightning fast and totally convenient. How does a TAN generator (color code) work?

What do I need to consider?

As with the flicker code procedure (Sm@rtTAN optic), it is very important that you check the data shown on the secure display of your TAN generator and only then approve it by clicking OK.

Can I still use my old card?

With a normal card exchange (follow-up card), you can still use your old card in online banking until the end of the year, but you can no longer switch back to the old card.

Which error message appears on the reader display?

When inserting the new girocard, “Error 00” appears in the display.

Can I use the manual procedure with my old tanJack® optic TAN generator and the new girocard?

No! The reader rejects the card as soon as it is inserted and therefore for every procedure.
