WithtimeCardAU as a supplement to yourtimeCardtime recording system, you can automatically retrieve electronic certificates of incapacity for work (eAU) from the relevant health insurance companies for your employees with statutory health insurance. You receive prompt feedback on the reported incapacity for work in the system you use every day without having to go through your tax consultant. You can also manually manage and store the incapacity for work of your privately insured employees. With individual settings, e.g. when a sick note must be submitted, you can customize the automatic queries.

An eAU, also known as an electronic certificate of incapacity for work, is a digital document issued by a doctor to confirm a patient’s incapacity for work. In contrast to the conventional paper-based AU certificate, the eAU is created, transmitted and stored electronically.
Yes, the eAU is legally binding. According to the statutory provisions, the electronic certificate of incapacity for work is legally equivalent to the conventional paper-based certificate of incapacity for work. Employers are obliged to recognize the eAU and act accordingly.
